Therapies
Colonic Hydrotherapy
Also known as Colonics, Colon Irrigation, Colon Hydrotherapy, High Colonic, Enema, Colon Cleansing
The cleanse experience is a gentle and effective method to detox not only the colon but allows for a complete physical detox of all the body’s systems.
Whether you have a current health condition or you are looking to feel more energy and vitality, periodic colon cleansing is right for you.
What to Expect
We specialize in a natural approach to cleansing and rejuvenating the large intestines: filtered water is gently introduced to the colon allowing for a simultaneous exit of water and waste out of the colon. A gentle abdominal massage is performed to assist in the elimination of waste from the body.
We schedule an hour for you to discuss your current health & goals and to include the colon cleanse treatment which will last approximately 40 to 50 minutes depending on each individuals needs.
Our meeting will also include diet/nutrition information to meet your special goals and needs.
Preparation
To prepare for a colonic, it is best to avoid solid food 2 hours before the session.
When possible, begin preparation 3 or more days prior to the session, eating a large percentage of plant based foods and liquids to loosen and move the impacted waste.
Imagine the inside of your body like a pan of food just out of the oven. Hard, stuck and caked on food requires abrasive, hydrated and enzyme rich matter to move it. The more preparation, the better.
Vegetable Juices are now found more readily than ever before! While a juice fast has it benefits, just adding a fresh, unpasturized juice to your day will go along way for the physial health and vitality.
It is always beneficial to drink water after a colonic followed by a fresh vegetable juice to replenish the body and hydrate the system.
Please bring a juice along with you to your session and you can store in the refrigerator and have it with you after the session.
Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy during a Juice Fast
Starting a juice fast? Excellent! Consider that a portion of everything we eat stays in the body and accumulates in the large intestine of the body. Over time, that waste becomes hard like tire rubber and even may start to calcify. It is this hard, toxic waste that slowly reabsorbs in the entire body creating many health issues and disease.
The large intestine of the body is designed to receive a signal during each meal to prepare the colon to evacuate what is held in the descending/sigmoid of the large intestine. It is ideal to have a bowel movement after each meal. Ask yourself, do you actually experience this? For most of us, the answer is no. This is the technical definition of “Constipation”.
So, while we are on a temporary break from mastication, chewing our food , the large intestine, does not receive the signal to evacuate, peristalsis slows down and eventually stops, and we begin to hold on to the waste, the body would like to remove.
It is highly beneficial to wash the inside of the colon with some warm water to clean out the built up toxins and let’s face it, garbage, and rejeuvenate not only the colon but all of the entire body’s systems.
The large intestine is six feet long and is holding on to a lifetime of built up waste.
How to plan the colon cleansing during a fast?
Ideally a session is beneficial the day before the fast begins and the day after the first meal is consumed after the fast.
Depending on the symptoms during the fast, an additional session could be helpful during the fasting period.
What happens during a fast?
When we skip a meal or fast for a period of time, the body goes through cell contraction in an attempt to find stored energy to continue running.
When the cells contract, poisons and gases are released into the blood stream, in addition to the good stored nutrients. However, it is the toxic substances that are stored in the cells that start to create adverse symptoms in our body and energy. The more symptoms we have, the more toxins are in the body.
The use of the colon hydrotherapy will be very helpful in minimizing the symptoms during the fast and also, expediting the detoxification process.
We will remove the toxins and waste rather than asking the body to break it down and process it over time. Truthfully unless there is an extended fasting period of time, 3 days will not be enough time to process the complete, holistic detoxification. Usually, the removal of waste and poison creates more energy and healthier body chemistry.
Colon Hydrotherapy eliminates from the bowel the accumulated waste material which may get absorbed. If this absorption takes place, it may overwhelm the other purification organs such as the liver, kidneys, skin and lungs. The toxin deposition which becomes lodged throughout the body’s tissues and cells becomes capable of triggering a variety of illnesses.
Remember, that over the counter pharmaceutical products over-stimulate the bowel and force elimination but this is not natural. By putting any drug or herbal remedy in the body and colon, we’re giving it something different — a foreign chemical that the body is forced to react to, but not in a positive way.
By using water to cleanse the colon, we gently flush out any unwanted, accumulated matter that clings on to the colon like cement.
It is a safe and gentle process that has been used over centuries and is performed in a safe, sterile healing environment.
Wellness Counseling
GRD Holistic Healing focuses each health education and counseling session on the presentation and understanding of digestion and elimination.
Proper Food Combining is a basic principle to proper digestion and assimilation of meals. Additionally, foods high in living enzymes and “life source” are emphasized.
We will discuss the basics of food combining; how to plan meals including fruits, fats, carbohydrates, proteins. Each food uses different enzymes to digest and if we ingest foods organized in a manner to optimize our digestion, breakdown, assimilation and elimination are optimal.
It is through optimizing this process that we experience the highest energy level, vitality and disease prevention.
We will discuss food transit times, blood type diets, and many other topics that help individualize our body’s specific needs and goals.
